“Using Podfather, we have the processes and data we need to create and report on a super-efficient, super-streamlined delivery operation that we can roll out across the UK and beyond,” commented Bart Rostek, National Logistics Manager at Calo Inc. “Podfather has been by our side at every step, ensuring both operational and cost benefits across the board, and I know the team at Podfather will continue to support us as we react and respond to the challenges of expansion and the requirements and needs of different markets and locations.”
Bart joined Calo in 2025 in a strategic position to ensure the company was best-placed, in terms of logistics and delivery, for expansion. Having used Podfather in a previous position at Simply Lunch, and with almost decade’s experience in logistics and FMCG, he worked with the Podfather team to configure the system to meet the specific requirements of the growing business. Under its current operating model, which sees a fleet of drivers and thousands of deliveries a day, Calo is using Podfather to plan and optimise routes taking into account time windows, customer constraints, and load capacities. Podfather is also used to capture electronic Proof of Delivery evidence, including date, time, and location stamped photographs and signatures.
In addition, Podfather, which also offers automated vehicle checks and real-time tracking and notifications as standard, provides Calo with the ability to make data-driven decisions. A standard suite of performance dashboards and reports means Calo can analyse results across its business, refine processes based on real-life data, and ultimately improve delivery performance. The system is also configurable, giving Calo the ability to customise reports and export data for additional analysis to inform expansion planning.
“Podfather gives us the ability to capture, share and use real-world, real-time metrics,” Bart continued. “This not only means our day-to-day operation is organised and streamlined, delivering efficiencies in profit and loss, it also ensures that our forward planning and strategic decision-making are data-driven, ensuring accountability, repeatability and scalability.”
Already well established in the Gulf region, Calo entered the UK market in 2025 and quickly gained traction. Following the acquisition of well-known brands Fresh Fitness Food and Detox Kitchen, Calo brought with it proven systems, experienced teams, and a refined approach to healthy eating. Today, Calo operates across seven countries, applying globally informed best practices while adapting to local expectations around quality and convenience.
