Aubrey Allen, the premium meat, and artisan food product supplier favoured by Raymond Blanc, has introduced vehicle tracking and electronic proof of delivery software from Podfather. The Royal Warrant holder has a fleet of vehicles delivering goods to catering establishments and customer homes across the UK. With demand on the rise and ensuring quality of service at the forefront of its mind, Aubrey Allen saw the need to introduce a software solution to help with planning and managing its delivery operation.

With Podfather rolling out, Aubrey Allen has been able to start the process of eradicating paper tickets from its operation as it moves transport management, defect checks, vehicle tracking, automated customer notifications and proof of delivery over to the Podfather system. With drivers now using the Podfather smartphone app, the Aubrey Allen team, and its customers, have real-time visibility of all vehicle movements and delivery drop times.

From humble beginnings in a butcher’s shop in Coventry, Aubrey Allen has evolved to become one of the best-known catering butchers in the UK. With an established trade business and a growing home delivery offering, Aubrey Allen identified the need to bring in technology to ensure its delivery service reflected the high consistency and quality standards for which its business is known for.

“As a business, we have built our reputation by sourcing meat from the finest cattle, pig and poultry farmers,” comments Jonathan Highfield, Purchasing Manager at Aubrey Allen. “As our offering has grown, with the introduction of artisan cheese, other products and a home delivery service, we have seen the need to move away from what was historically a paper-based delivery management process.”

Having reviewed the solutions the market had to offer Aubrey Allen selected Podfather based on the system’s breadth of functionality, ease of use, and proven reputation within the food delivery sector. Aubrey Allen now uses Podfather to gather vehicle checks, track delivery vehicles, issue automated ETA notifications to customers and capture electronic proof of delivery photographs which are uploaded back to the office in real time. Customer service teams now have full visibility of where orders are, as do customers, who use the tracking link provided in their ETA notification emails to check when their delivery is expected to arrive.

“With Podfather we can share our routes with drivers via the app, which we have running on Android smartphones,” adds Highfield. “Having a cloud-based back office system and the driver app gives us full-time visibility of what’s going on across our operation and our customers love the ETA functionality that the Podfather system has introduced to our operation.”

“We are delighted to welcome yet another Royal Warrant holder to the growing list of Podfather customers who rely on our software every day to manage deliveries, track vehicles and collect electronic proof of delivery,” comments Colin McCreadie, Managing Director at Podfather. “For Aubrey Allen, delivering exceptional customer experience is a must. Working together we can ensure Aubrey Allen is able to offer both best in class products, and a best in class delivery service, to its customers.”
