Phloor eradicates one million paper tickets with Podfather rollout
Phloor, Ireland’s leading wholesaler and distributor of flooring products, has selected Podfather’s route planning and electronic proof of delivery solution to help transform its distribution process. Operating out of two depots, Phloor is delivering a wide spectrum of flooring products to over 800 retail customers located across the length and breadth of Ireland. Having made the decision to overhaul internal systems the Phloor team have been impressed with the speed at which Podfather has been able to roll out, and deliver significant savings, across its operation.
Phloor now rely on Podfather every day to share routes to driver handhelds, issue customer ETA notifications, track vehicles, and capture electronic proof of delivery. As a result, the process is now almost totally paper-free, admin time has been slashed, time to invoice has been reduced by several hours and the Phloor team is on track to save over one million sheets of paper as a result.
“Prior to Podfather we ran a paper and admin-intensive operation,” comments Ronan Gantly, Transport, Health & Safety Manager at Phloor. “Now that Podfather is fully operational, we have eradicated our dependence on paper; our transport team are now using the easy-to-use Podfather app and we get real-time visibility of order completion which has transformed our accounting processes.”
Phloor has been supplying a wide spectrum of flooring to retailers across Ireland for over 25 years. With a wealth of experience and knowledge, the Phloor team is committed to bringing customers both unsurpassable products and an unpassable level of service. As part of a business system review, Phloor identified the need to update the technology used across its delivery operation. Having reviewed the solutions the market had to offer Phloor identified Podfather as the only system capable of delivering the results required for the business.
“Podfather offered us an easy-to-use solution to the complex problem of managing our delivery operation with its back-office system and intuitive driver app,” adds Gantly. “The quick roll out, ease of adoption by our drivers, and the positive feedback from our customers, who can now track their own deliveries, proves that Podfather is the system of choice for delivery tracking and ePOD.”
As a result of using Podfather to track route progress, issue customer ETA notifications and capture electronic proof of delivery, Phloor is revelling in a range of benefits that extend beyond the transport office. Having switched from a paper-intensive process to an electronic one, Phloor are on track to save one million sheets of paper this year. This, combined with the speed at which information now flows across the business, shows just how far reaching the Podfather benefits can be. “Having Podfather has enabled us to slash several hours off our invoicing process which is great for our finance team and our business as a whole,” adds Gantly.
“Phloor is another great example of how introducing Podfather can eradicate paper tickets, improve the flow of information, and cut time to invoice, across a logistics operation,” adds Colin McCreadie, Managing Director at Podfather. “Our logistics software offering, which Phloor now rely on every day, offers an out of the box solution to the challenge of running a high-volume distribution operation. The swift role out is a real testament to our commitment to making the system easy to use, while delivering great results.”
