Here we look back at some of the press coverage that Podfather has received in recent weeks.  We know we have something great to offer delivery fleet operators looking to improve final mile processes but see what others have been saying about us lately.

Van Fleet World magazine

The Van Fleet World circulation covers virtually every major fleet operator in the UK and is aimed specifically at director-level fleet decision-makers.  The magazine offers an editorial viewpoint on the key issues facing the fleet industry.

Van Fleet World covered a story about our work with Igloo Thermo-Logistics, the multi-temperature refrigerated delivery service with national coverage.  Igloo is using our electronic Proof of Delivery and logistics planning software to maintain its exceptional customer service levels, improve its environmental objectives and support sustainable growth.

From three regional depots, Igloo makes more than 300,000 temperature-controlled deliveries a year, ranging from single parcels to full pallets, travelling in excess of 6 million miles across the UK. Specialising in multi-temperature, next-day consignments, Igloo uses Podfather to improve visibility and inform decision making with continuously updated ETA notifications, real-time capture of delivery information and intelligent management reporting.

Materials Handling World Magazine

Materials Handling World (MHW) Magazine publishes the latest news and product information regarding the movement of goods and equipment from one location to another.  The publication provides a regular email news update covering a wide range of topics that address key logistics challenges.

MHW featured our work with Liley’s Cider, the family run business delivering a range of flavored ciders and perries, all made at the family farm in Frome, to pubs, shops and other outlets across the UK.

Lilley’s Cider is implementing our logistics planning, route optimisation and electronic proof of delivery software to drive efficiency, improve the customer experience and reduce administration. Using Podfather software, Lilley’s is replacing its paper-based processes with automated fleet utilisation tools designed to save time and money, and reduce the company’s environmental impact.

Construction Update

Construction Update Magazine has a circulation of over 75,000 key contacts throughout the industry, and is the one-stop source for all business owners and professionals from the construction, infrastructure and allied industries

Construction Update picked up our story about Breedon blasting into action with Podfather. Breedon supplies the construction industry with the essential materials needed to build the places where we live and work, play and in between. Having historically relied on paper tickets to track and monitor loads, Breedon identified that streamlining its ticketing process and removing paper would help achieve its corporate objective to improve business sustainability, delivery reliability and customer experience.

The implementation of ePOD has seen its business areas, with disparate processes, become aligned and focused on a common outcome – the eradication of paper tickets. Our electronic ticketing, ePOD and route optimisation solution provider has had an integral part to play in the process, giving Breedon an effective solution capable of scaling up to meet the operational demand required. The Podfather solution is now relied on to process in the region of 8,000 transactions a day with that number set to rise throughout the coming months.

BMJ, Builders Merchants Journal

BMJ works closely with many other industry organisations, from the Builders Merchants Federation, the Institute of Builders Merchants, and the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants to the National Merchant Buying Society, and the independent buying groups, including, NBG, Fortis and h&b. BMJ published our case study on Browns Builders Merchants, the family run business, based in Derby, that has been supplying building materials to both trade and public customers since 1990.

Browns delivers across the midlands, from Birmingham to Nottingham and Leicester to Stoke. Its mixed fleet of trucks and vans makes around 50 drops a day ranging from single load bulk deliveries to multi-drop runs.

Browns Builders Merchants is implementing our logistics planning, route optimisation and electronic proof of delivery software. With end-to-end automation of its delivery operation, Browns expects increases in efficiency and improved communication, building on its longstanding commitment to customer service. The Podfather software is already helping the company make better informed decisions based on the real-time information captured by the system.

Cold Chain Federation

The Cold Chain Federation is leading the UK’s temperature controlled logistics industry and regularly shares the latest news on company developments, people moves and product innovations.

The Cold Chain Federation were quick to share news on our work with Forest Produce, the supplier of specialist ingredients and chef essentials that now uses our ePOD solution.  Using our system Forest Produce is improving its eco credentials and responding to a challenging labour market. The company has also reduced its back-office administration, eliminated paperwork and significantly speeded up new driver training.

Since implementing the Podfather system, Forest Produce has seen a 75 per cent reduction in the time take to train new delivery drivers. What used to take days, learning processes and individual routes, now takes just a few hours getting to know the business and learning how to use Podfather. Back-office admin and support teams are also realising efficiency gains through the use of the system resulting in a saving of around 40 hours a week.

Professional Builders Merchant

Professional Builders Merchant magazine is known as the home of news, features and updates on the UK builders' merchant sector and building materials supply chain.  A recent edition featured our work with Carvers Building Supplies, the wholesale building materials supplier.  With a fleet of over 30 delivery vehicles distributing a wide range of products to customers around Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas, the Carvers Building Supplies team were looking for a solution to help improve efficiency and remove paper from the planning process.

Our solution gives Carvers a cloud-based back office system and easy to use driver app that enables teams to optimise routes, capture vehicle checks, issue customer ETA notifications, track drivers and capture electronic proof of delivery without the need for paper tickets.
